Man in court over Ellesmere street ‘incident’
A 35-year-old man allegedly caused a street in Ellesmere to be evacuated by police, a court heard.

John Wellings, 35, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday , facing charges relating to alleged incidents of disorder and criminal damage in Scotland Street on November 14 this year.
He is accused of assault causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, affray, and making threats with a blade in a public place.
The case was adjourned until January 8 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Wellings, of Scotland Street, remains in custody.
