West Mercia Police Operations and Communications Centre has revealed that a contact handler answered a 999 call, which turned out to be someone requesting a police officer to help find a drone.

The tweet said: "We have just had the following 999 call.

"Contact Handler - Hello caller what is your emergency?

"Caller - I have just lost my new drone can an officer come and help look for it?

"This is not an appropriate use of 999, even on Xmas day! #MakeTheRightCall."
