Morgan Rhys Hill, 21, of Forden, Welshpool, admitted assaulting Stephanie Lockwood in July, September and October when he appeared before Welshpool magistrates in November.
Hill denied a further assault charge, alleged to have taken place in Newtown in October, but was found guilty after trial in December.
He was given a two-year community order, at Welshpool Magistrates Court and told to do 200 hours unpaid work.
Hill was also made subject to a restraining order and told to pay £300 compensation, £620 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
