Two cars seen speeding away from Bridgnorth burglary

Two cars were seen speeding away from the scene of a burglary at a premises in Bridgnorth.

The incident is believed to have taken place on Sunday, January 28, at around 11.40pm, at a commercial premises in Postern Gate, in Bridgnorth.

A witness called officers to report that they had seen two vehicles leaving the scene at speed. Moments before, the witness had heard an alarm sounding and seen a group of men running out of the premises and getting into the two vehicles.

The vehicles are described as a dark coloured Vauxhall Astra estate and a white Vauxhall Combo panel van.

The offenders stole four mobile phones from the premises - one of which has been recovered.

A spokesman from Bridgnorth Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Police on patrol nearby were on the scene in under five minutes and other officers were also deployed to the scene. A number of officers were deployed on likely routes that the offenders would have taken,while others confirmed that a burglary had taken place and spoke to witnesses.

"Extra information from witnesses enabled the police to conduct checks on the Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras in the area, focusing on routes into and out of the area of the burglary.

"As the investigation continues, police will check CCTV in the town that may have captured the incident, or the vehicles involved in it."
