Arrests made after teenager seriously injured in Shrewsbury High Street attack

Two teenagers have been arrested after an attempted robbery in Shrewsbury left the victim with serious facial injuries.

A teenager was attacked in Shrewsbury High Street

A teenager was allegedly attacked and threatened in High Street, near Peacock Passage, at 10.30pm on Friday.

Thugs demanded the victim hand over his phone and coat before attacking him.

They then fled the scene empty handed when someone else intervened.

The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics, and police have arrested two 17-year-olds on suspicion of robbery.

The pair were in police custody yesterday.
