Murder arrest after woman found dead in Telford
West Mercia Police say they have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Telford.
The body was found by police at a home in Mullinder Drive, Ketley Bank, early this morning and a 44-year-old man was arrested shortly after.
A white tent has been put up and the house has been cordoned off since the woman was found at around 6.15am.
Officers, who have been scouring the area throughout the day, are yet to name the victim or the man in custody.

Detective Inspector Graham Preece, from West Mercia Police, said: “We were notified of the incident at around 6.15am. On attendance at the location a woman was found deceased.
“A 44-year-old old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in police custody.
“A cordon remains in place around where the incident happened, and there will be police presence in the area as enquiries continue.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased woman at this very difficult time.”
Officers on the scene said that there had been a “serious incident”.
Usman Ahmad, parish councillor for Leegomery and the Labour candidate for Ketley and Overdale, said: “Appalled to learn a woman was found deceased this morning at Mullinder Drive in Telford and police are treating this as a murder investigation, my thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies with the lady’s family and friends.
"I sincerely hope justice is served.”
A resident of nearby Frizes Leasowe said that she had seen and heard an ambulance on Mullinder Drive at about 6.45am.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said it was a shocking thing to wake up to.
Another Frizes Leasowe resident said that he had not lived in the area long and was surprised when he saw the police cars in the nearby street.
Mullinder Drive sits just off the M54 in Ketley Bank, near Oakengates, and contains mostly semi-detached houses.
The news of the murder came the day after the funeral for Cheryl Hooper, who was shot dead in Newport on January 27.
