Businesses targeted in burglaries at Halfpenny Green Airport
Burglars have targeted businesses based at Halfpenny Green Airport near Wolverhampton prompting a police investigation.
Units at the airport have been broken into by thieves, say officials at the airport.
Scenes of crime forensic officers have been on site today gathering evidence.
Flight school Air Midwest is based at the airport, close to Bobbington, and said its staff were unable to reach its offices due to 'ongoing police forensic investigations'.
Airport acting operations manager Tony Rowlands confirmed units at the site had been broken into but said the airport remained open.
Staffordshire Police said officers had responded to two break-ins at the business units on the airport.
They confirmed there is no threat to safety at the airport.
