Market Drayton shop raiders only manage to steal sweets
A Market Drayton shop was broken into today after a large section of the front shutter was cut away - and all for some sweets.
The One Stop convenience store in Shrewsbury Road was broken into early on this morning, with neighbours saying they heard loud noises and a car engine.
It is understood that the shop's security fog system was activated, and that the only thing taken was a small amount of sweets.
The shop had to close today, with the door still damaged. Police attended including a forensics team.
Eleanor Harris of West Mercia Police said: “Police are carrying out enquiries after a burglary at the One Stop Shop in Shrewsbury Road in Market Drayton.
"The burglary happened just after 5am on Tuesday, April 10. Initial enquiries suggest the burglars may have made off in a dark coloured vehicle.
