Former mayor appears in court over Shropshire crash which killed his wife
A former mayor of Worcester has appeared before magistrates charged with causing the death of his wife in a car crash on Shropshire.
The collision was near the Plume of Feathers pub at Harley in October.
Frank Aubrey Tarbuck, 88, of Hallow, Worcestershire, also faced two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Telford Magistrates Court.
His wife Anne died when their Volvo was involved in a collision with another car on the A458.
No pleas were taken and the matter was transferred to Shrewsbury Crown Court where it will be heard on July 16.
Tarbuck was granted unconditional bail.
A young girl in the other car was taken to hospital suffering head and chest injuries, while the driver of that vehicle was also hurt.
