Offenders are thought to have used a power tool to break into a cash box in a Telford robbery this week.

The raid on a delivery van happened at Lloyds Bank in Donnington, at about 11.20am on Tuesday.

Police were called to the scene after a G4S security van was robbed and the cash box broken into while delivering money to the branch in Wrekin Drive.

Police say there are now believed to be three offenders involved in the crime.

The men, who are described as wearing dark clothing, left the scene in a car thought to be a black Seat Leon.

No-one was harmed in the robbery.

West Mercia Police are now urging anyone who saw the robbery or the Seat Leon to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Antony Cleobury, from West Mercia Police, said: “A thorough investigation has been launched and a number of enquiries are currently ongoing.”
