Man charged with arson over hotel blaze
A man has been charged with arson after a fire ripped through a Mid Wales hotel.
A huge fire broke out at the Ty Belgrave Hotel, on Marine Terrace in Aberystwyth, in the early hours of July 25.
A number of people were rescued, and one man still remains unaccounted for.
Dyfed-Powys Police have charged a man with arson with intent to endanger life.
Damion Harris, 30, of Llanbadarn, was remanded in custody and was due to appear before Aberystwyth Magistrates Court today.
A man is still missing and police are liaising with the Lithuanian Embassy to trace his next of kin.
DCI Neil Jenkins said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the unexplained fire which broke out at Belgrave House.

"As a result of our enquiries, a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and is currently in police custody in Aberystwyth.
"One man remains unaccounted for following the fire. Work is being carried out to trace his next of kin, and officers are liaising with the Lithuanian Embassy in an attempt to contact them.
"The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and work is being carried out to make the building safe while preserving evidence at the scene.
"It is anticipated that access will not be possible until the end of this week at the earliest. Police and fire officers will then carry out a joint investigation to establish the cause of the fire."
Police want to speak to anyone who was around the hotel between midnight on July 24, and 3am on July 25.
