Fake £50 in Shropshire warning
A man in a distinctive trilby hat is using fake £50 notes in shops and pubs across Shropshire, police have warned.
Officers say licensed premises and stores are being targeted by the conman.
He is described as white, in his mid-20s and wears glasses, about 5 foot 6 inches tall, thick set, clean shaven with an Irish accent.
Constable David Walton said: "Businesses and in particular licensed premises across Shropshire are being targeted. He is passing counterfeit £50 notes when making low value purchases."
The man drives a white Ford Transit van with a non-GB number plate.
