Straw fire which burned through the night near Shawbury was arson - with video
Police are treating a huge straw fire on farmland near Market Drayton as arson.
Firefighters were called to the fire, which involved around 150 tonnes of straw, at around 8pm on Tuesday night.
The battled through the night to bring the flames under control and then worked all day Wednesday with the farmer to ensure that the blaze was fully extinguished.
There had been concerns that flames could spread to nearby hedgerows.
Three fire engines including the Incident Support Unit from Hodnet, Shrewsbury and Wellington were sent to the fire which was on land close to the A53 at Shawbury.
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The incident has been confirmed as arson."
