Stephen Corbett, 36, of Berberis Way, Leegomery, Telford, had denied breaking into Doreen and Roy Haywood's home in Crescent Road, Wellington, while they were asleep upstairs on June 17.
After retiring to consider their verdict yesterday, a jury at Shrewsbury Crown Court cleared Corbett of the charge.
Earlier in the trial, the jury heard how the couple had discovered their door was open and mobile phones, two computer tablets, a laptop, a purse and bank cards had been stolen, with the cards used just a few hours later.
CCTV from the home was passed to the police, which showed two men at the home.
