Man, 21, arrested in Shifnal for damaging window
A man has been arrested and taken to hospital after getting drunk and punching a window during 'Mad Friday' celebrations in Shifnal.
Following an alcohol-fuelled night out on the last Friday before Christmas, the man became involved in an argument and punched a glass window at about 10.20pm, causing damage to the window and seriously injuring his arm before he was arrested for criminal damage.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were both called to the incident.
The 21-year-old was treated at the scene, on Broadway, by paramedics and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Police took details of the man, the damage he appeared to have caused and contact details to allow for further enquiries once he has been treated for his injuries.
Forensic tests are now being conducted on the blood that was left at the scene.
The force say a large percentage of offences that it deals with over the festive period are alcohol related and is asking anybody celebrating to ensure they know their limits and enjoy themselves responsibly.
