Police say the 69-year-old man was targeted by a man and woman at about 2.30pm on December 29 in Corvedale Road.

West Mercia Police said the pair asked the victim for directions and while they were distracting him by pointing to a map, his wallet was stolen.

Cards from the wallet were used to make a number of purchases in Ludlow that afternoon.

Officers believe it may be linked to a similar incident in Much Wenlock earlier that day.

An 88-year-old woman was shopping in the town at about 12.30pm when she was approached by an couple.

They stole a purse, which was later found in St Owens Road, missing £30 cash.

In both cases, police said the offenders were described as an Asian couple.

The man was described as olive skinned, with a beard and moustache, aged about 40 and wearing a light grey coat.

The woman is described as having a round face and wearing a long, grey fleece.
