Two arrests after £1 MILLION cannabis factory uncovered in raid
Police have uncovered a cannabis factory in Newtown worth a staggering £1 million.
On Saturday, Dyfed-Powys Police officers carried out a warrant at an address in Stone Street, where a significant amount of cannabis plants were found.
Two men, aged 21 and 38, were arrested and have been charged with production of a controlled drug.
Around 1,600 plants were discovered, and the two men will appear before Welshpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday to enter pleas to the charges.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Dyfed-Powys Police officers uncovered a large-scale cannabis factory with a potential street value of around one million pounds in Newtown.
"Police carried out a warrant at an address in Stone Street during the early hours of Saturday morning, where a significant number of plants were found.
"Two men –aged 21 and 38 – were arrested at the scene and were later charged with producing a controlled drug.
"Officers estimated there were around 1,600 plants at the address, with a potential street value of one million pounds.
"The men have been conveyed to Welshpool Magistrates’ Court."
