Four thefts in the Welshpool and Forden area saw a number of goods taken from cars, some of which were parked at the town's Flash Leisure Centre.

The Talbot Inn pub also covered in graffiti.

It is the second time the pub has been attacked in a year, after vandals previously smashed some of the windows.

County councillor Graham Breeze has labelled the incidents, which happened overnight Wednesday to Thursday, a disgrace for the town, and has urged people with information to step forward.

He said: "This second attack on The Talbot Inn is an absolute disgrace. There can be no justification of any kind for this outrageous act of vandalism. Not long ago windows were smashed and the culprits have not been caught.

"The Talbot is an historic public house and the licensee goes to great lengths to ensure it is maintained in an attractive condition in the town centre.

"I have little doubt that there are people in the town who know who is responsible. They need to come forward because this type of mindless vandalism has to stop.

"Its is also disappointing to hear that thieves have targeted vehicles in The Flash area. I would encourage everyone to be vigilant. We are all guilty of leaving items on display inside our vehicles and this is a classic example of why we should not."

Around ten power tools were stolen in the four thefts, worth £1,500, with clothes, computers and camera equipment worth more than £3,000 also taken.

Anyone with information regarding any of the incidents has been asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police in 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
