Men to stand trial over death
Two men will stand trial in relation to the death of a man near Market Drayton.
Samuel Thorpe and Nicholas Hill both denied charges related to Adam Lovatt, who died after being injured at Shropshire Street in Audlem.
Mr Lovatt was 45 when he died on May 25 last year.
Thorpe, 23, of Annions Lane in Wybunbury, appeared alongside Hill, 35, of Moorsfield Avenue in Audlem, when they both appeared at Liverpool Crown Court last week to answer the charges against them.
Thorpe is charged with the manslaughter of Mr Lovatt, while Hill faces one charge of assisting an offender.
Both of the defendants pleaded not guilty to their respective charges, and both only spoke at the hearing to confirm their names and personal details, and to enter their pleas.
The judge, Clement Goldstone QC, released both men on conditional bail ahead of their trial.
Their trial will take place at Liverpool Crown Court in the week beginning July 1.
