CCTV images released after Shrewsbury nightclub attack leaves woman with permanent scar
Police are appealing for help to catch the person suspected of assaulting a woman at a Shrewsbury nightclub.
The victim was left with serious injuries to her face that required six stitches following the incident which happened between1.30am and 2am 30 September 20, 2018 inside The Buttermarket in Howard Street.
Officers want witnesses to the assault to come forward after previous efforts to find the culprit drew a blank.
West Mercia Police has now released images showing a man and a woman matching the description of the people officers want to speak to in relation the the incident.
The incident is believed to have taken place as the female victim was standing near the dance floor talking to a friend when another woman stumbled into them.
Her friend is understood to have put her hands up to ask "what are you doing" when the woman hit the victim in the face.
She suffered a deep cut above her eye requiring six stitches and has been left with a permanent facial scar.
The club assisted in trying to locate the suspect, however it is believed she had already left.
The suspect is described as a white female, mid 20's in age, average height, slim build.
Police have issued CCTV of a woman and a male who were in the area at around the time of the assault that they would like to identify and speak to as potential witnesses.
Other lines of enquiry have been exhausted and due to the seriousness of the injuries, officers have also released images of the injuries and are appealing for information from the public.
Pc Stephen Titley said: "It is not okay for someone to do this to another individual. We are asking the public to help us identify who may have done this so that they can be interviewed as part of our ongoing investigation."
