A resident in the village of Morda posted footage from a CCTV camera at his house on social media, which showed a man getting into a car that was parked on his driveway.

The resident was alerted by the camera in the early hours of this morning and when he went out to investigate a man was on a neighbour's drive on the same street.

The suspect made off towards the Weston Lane area and West Mercia Police were called to the scene.

The resident, who does not wish to be named, explained: "It was 2.24am and we had an alert come up on our phone to say that the camera detected motion.

"I viewed the camera live as it was happening so quickly got changed and went outside.

"During the time I was getting changed he had already made his way down to a neighbours house where I saw the side gate was open and a man was walking from the drive.

"I knew it was him, all in black and locked shifty. I shouted at him and then he started to run off but was too quick for me and ran off towards Weston Lane."

Police have urged people in the area to check their CCTV cameras.
