'Dangerously out of control' dog shot dead by police after attacking man and woman in Telford
Police shot a dog dead today after it attacked two people in Telford.
Officers responded to reports of a dog attacking people near Langley Fold, Dawley, shortly after 9am.
A man and a woman were found with non-serious injuries but police shot the dog because it was "dangerously out of control".
Superintendent Paul Moxley said: "Public safety is our utmost priority and unfortunately due to the extremely agitated nature of the dog's behaviour it was necessary for police to take action to ensure no one else was injured.
"Taking this sort of action is always a last resort and only ever used when it is absolutely necessary to ensure the safety of the public."
