Police said the 54-year-old was allegedly more than four times over the drink-drive limit when she was arrested yesterday morning outside Wrockwardine Wood Infant School.

Officers ran checks on the red Toyota car and reported that she was allegedly driving without insurance.

They said the grandmother then blew a breath test reading of 145 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

West Mercia Police have said she has been released on bail until April 9 while enquiries continue.

Telford Patrol tweeted yersterday: "On today's unbelievable tales from #Telford we have a lady who dropped her grandchildren off at school driving without #Insurance.

"She then blew a whopping 145 on the breath test! Arrested for #DrinkDrive. Off to court next to get #Schooled."
