Telford man who threatened to kill ex-girlfriend is jailed

A Telford man who made threats to kill his former girlfriend and assaulted her has been jailed for nine months.

Scott Gallagher, 30, of Cherrington, Stirchley, appeared at Shrewsbury Justice Centre on Wednesday to be sentenced on a number of matters.

On the day of his trial, he pleaded guilty to making threats to kill on September 28 last year.

Gallagher also pleaded guilty to a criminal damage offence and section 39 assault on September 30.

He was jailed for nine months for threats to kill, with one month for criminal damage and two months for assault.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

He also faced two other charges of false imprisonment and section 39 assault, which will lie on file.
