Second man appears in court over Shrewsbury stabbing

A man has appeared in court after a man was stabbed in Shrewsbury town centre.

Simon Llewellyn, 40, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with robbery, possession of a bladed article, false imprisonment, dwelling burglary and dwelling burglary with violence.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between March 22 and March 28.

Llewellun, of Pulrose Walk, Shrewsbury, was remanded in to custody and will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on April 23.

Police were called last Monday morning after a 53-year-old man was stabbed in the town centre between Castle Street and Raven Meadows.

He was taken to hospital and his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Luke Pritchard, 20, of Copthorne Road, Shrewsbury, has been charged with robbery and possessing a bladed article in connection with the incident.
