Over the last few weeks, a number of incidents have been reported to West Mercia Police of unregistered motorcycles being ridden in the town.

On Tuesday, April 23, police were called out to bikes being ridden on a field in Stanmore in the early hours of the morning, with other incidents being recorded in Pale Meadow, alongside River Severn.

Police say the bikes have been spotted both on public roads and off road, and that the riders are driving without helmets.

PCSO Mal Goddard, of Bridgnorth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This behaviour has caused alarm and distress to members of the public.

"These riders are putting themselves and members of the public at risk.

"Motorcycles can only be ridden off road in an area where the landowner has given the rider permission to do so."

The police can issue a section 59 warning notice to anybody caught riding a motorcycle off road on land where they have not been given permission to ride, and a second incident can lead to the motorcycle being seized and potentially crushed.

Anyone who witnesses motorcycles being driven suspiciously around Bridgnorth is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101 with any identifying features.
