Alleged West Bromwich murderer to face trial in the spring
A man will stand trial next year after denying the murder of Daniel Pelechacz, who died after falling down a flight of stairs at a West Bromwich club.
The 40-year-old victim was taken to hospital after being found lying unconscious in Temple Street, West Bromwich, after suffering serious head injuries in the fall at Klimat nightclub in the early hours of September 30.
Mr Pelechacz, a truck driver from Wednesbury, died in hospital two days later.
Unemployed Krysztof Kowalski, from Greets Green Road in West Bromwich, was arrested by West Midlands Police in November last year and released under investigation while inquiries continued.
The 38-year-old was re-arrested on September 16 and charged with murder which he denied when he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to the court for the start of his trial on March 9.
Three other men were also arrested during the course of the investigation but all have been released without charge.
