Telford man denies attacking police constable

A man who denies attacking a police officer will be waiting until November to stand trial.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday David Lawrence, 68, pleaded not guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, namely a constable. It is alleged to have taken place on May 31 last year.

Lawrence, of Damson Drive in The Rock, Telford, was told that his trial will take place some time in the two weeks from November 15.

He pleaded before Judge Peter Barrie and he was represented in court by Mr Rob Edwards.
