Telford shoplifter fined . . . for 'unnecessary journey'
A shoplifter who stole £73 worth of toiletries and cosmetics has been reported to the courts – and fined for making an unnecessary journey.
A woman from Telford stole from the Boots branch in Newport's High Street in late January, Newport's safer neighbourhood team said.
The woman, 34, was arrested on the scene by a constable and fined for breaking Covid lockdown rules by making an unnecessary journey.
She was also reported to the court authorities for the theft.
