Aaron Rogers from Whitchurch will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on March 23.

The 22-year-old is accused of causing the death of cyclist Ian Edwards in a crash near Whitchurch last year.

Mr Edwards, 58, died at the scene of the crash on the B5476 at Coton on July 31.

Rogers has also been charged with failing to stop after a road traffic collision, failing to report a road traffic collision, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

He appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where he did not issue a plea, and was released on bail awaiting the crown court date in March.

Police had initially said Rogers was charged with death by dangerous driving but issued an update saying the charge was death by careless driving instead.
