PCSO Amy Newbrook visited Joe Cowans' home earlier this week to give him the voucher, which had been secured through West Mercia Police's community fund.

Joe, 15, from Sutton Hill, lives with autism and was assaulted on February 23 at about 1.30pm in the park by his home by two other boys.

He was extremely distressed by the incident and suffered a seizure, needing medical treatment.

PCSO Newbrook met Joe and his mother, Susan, to give them the voucher alongside a SmartWater kit, which can be used mark the bike and help keep it safe once purchased.

"It was an absolute pleasure to visit Joe and his mum and to see how excited he was about receiving the voucher and the marking kit as well," PCSO Newbrook said.

“It is such a joy to be able to give something back, through the community fund, to someone who has suffered a really traumatic ordeal. We hope that the new bike will give Joe a revived feeling of confidence and happiness.”

Police are appealing for information over the incident on February 23.

Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident reference number 00269i.
