Teenagers arrested as man injured in attempted bike robbery in Shrewsbury
A man suffered facial injuries during a suspected bike robbery attempt in Shrewsbury town centre.
West Mercia Police said officers were called out to reports that a man and his daughter were attacked near Castle Walk by a group of around 10 teenagers who attempted to steal his bike.
The man suffered injuries to his face requiring hospital treatment after the incident which happened at about 8.50pm on Tuesday.
Since then officers have arrested three women, all aged 18 and from Shrewsbury, in relation to the incident.
Two of the women were arrested on suspicion of robbery and a third woman was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
All three currently remain in custody in Shrewsbury.
Last month a man was attacked by up to five youths near the footbridge in Castle Walk resulting in the victim suffering injuries to his face.
