Shrewsbury man who attacked policeman in Newtown ordered to pay £50 compensation
A Shrewsbury man who attacked a policeman has been ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
Thomas Jones, aged 32, assaulted the officer in Newtown, Powys, on April 25 this year.
Jones, of Worcester Road, Harlescott, Shrewsbury, pleaded guilty at Welshpool Magistrates Court to one charge of assaulting by beating of an emergency worker.
Magistrates gave him a two-year community order which includes 250 hours of unpaid work, as well as ordering him to pay £50 in compensation to the policeman.
