Man avoids jail after admitting controlling and coercive behaviour towards partner

A man who admitted controlling and coercive behaviour against his partner has avoided jail.

Christopher Parkinson, aged 36, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court this week.

Parkinson, of Office Lane, Knowbury, near Ludlow, pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour, having already admitted three breaches of a non-molestation order and one count of possession of a drug of Class B.

His total sentence was one of 15 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.
