Cocaine-fuelled driver caught on busy A5 avoids more jail time
A thief who was caught driving with cocaine in his system on the busy A5 has avoided immediate further prison time.
Anthony Hughes, aged 39, was caught behind the wheel of a Fiat Sedici van on the road at Nesscliffe on November 18 last year.
A test found he had 32 microgrammes of cocaine per litre of blood. The legal limit, taking into account the possibility of accidental exposure, is 10 microgrammes. Hughes also had benzolecgonine - a metabolite of cocaine - in his system.
