Jordan Cove, aged 26, of Britannia Way, Hadley, pleaded guilty to stealing £150 in bottles of spirits from Tesco at Wrekin Retail Park, in Telford, on June 22.

Appearing before a judge at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Cove also admitted stealing £55 of laundry detergent from the Co-op in Donnington on June 24.

Deputy District Judge James Hulse was told by prosecutor Eleanor Peart that there was a record of Cove biting a security guard and wrestling with him. But no charges have been laid against Cove on that alleged matter.

Sarah Cooper, defending, said there were no mentions of an assault charge against her client and that Deputy District Judge James Hulse had to sentence Cove on the basis of the two shoplifting charges.
