Jailed: Panicked drugs runner with package in underwear jumped out of car when followed by cops
A panicked drugs runner with a package stuffed down his pants jumped out of a moving car when police started following him.
Joshua Roberts was caught with the package on March 3 this year after officers followed a car in which he was a rear seat passenger. When the police car's blue lights were switched on, the 25-year-old bailed from the car but was quickly detained.
Shrewsbury Crown Court, sitting at Telford Magistrates Court, heard how he immediately admitted having the drugs in his underwear and became emotional in the police car.
Prosecutor Alexandra Carrier, said the defendant became "emotional and started banging his head" against the headrest in the police car, saying: "I don't like doing what I do but I can't work, I don't have a choice."
In total the drugs found in Roberts' possession had a street value of around £2,000.
