Till thief belly-flopped onto counter and worker was attacked in shambolic takeaway robbery
Two men avoided prison after a shambolic, drunken robbery in which a takeaway worker was attacked.
CCTV footage played at Shrewsbury Crown Court showed Daniel Stanford belly flop onto the counter at Food O'Clock in Sutton Hill, Telford, barrel roll over the top and land in an ungainly heap on the floor as he drunkenly stole the till.
Jason Millward, meanwhile punched through a pane of glass protecting pre-prepared food, cutting his hand in the process.
The footage from the night in question, November 12 last year, first showed Millward and Stanford hanging around a car used by the takeaway's workers for deliveries. It had been left open, and Stanford climbed into the driver's seat.
Millward went into the takeaway and told a worker that somebody was sat in the car.
"He goes outside and politely asks him to come out of the car," said prosecutor Earl Pinnock, describing the worker trying to get Stanford to leave the vehicle.
