A college in Telford could be knocked down and a new secondary school for 900 pupils built in its place – 150 more places than originally planned.
Outline plans have been submitted to demolish Ercall Wood Technology College, in Wellington.
As well as a new school, there would also be new community sports facilities and 130 homes.
Plans had originally been produced last October to create a school for 750 pupils but these were withdrawn.
A 13-week consultation period is now under way.
A spokesman for Telford & Wrekin Council said: "The re-submission is substantively the same as the previous application, however the amended capacity from 750 to 900 places."
Councillor Miles Hosken, borough councillor for Ercall, said there were concerns over access.
