A Shropshire primary school is advertising for a new headteacher, months after it was placed in special measures.

Hope CE Primary School, near Minsterley, is advertising for an 'inspiring' and 'enthusiastic' replacement to take over the £49,000-a-year role in September.

In January, officials said the school was failing to give its 31 pupils an acceptable standard of education.

Headteacher Karen Mosedale said at the time the school had drawn up a plan and the school has made progress. She has since left the post.

Paul Ellis, chairman of governors, added: "The staff and governors have set ourselves the goal of becoming one of the best primary schools in Shropshire and the feedback from Ofsted confirms we are on track."
