The nursery at The Place in Oakengates was rated outstanding by inspectors.

Staff at the nursery said they were delighted that Ofsted had rated it so highly. Samantha Chamberlain, the business manager at the nursery, said: "We are very proud to be judged yet again as outstanding in all areas.

"Our centre's community will be celebrating together as a family.

"The recognition from Ofsted highlights what parents tell us – their children are happy and are doing very well. We are all very proud of what we provide and how together we strive to provide a special place where the best care and education for all young children is provided."

The Ofsted report praised staff for their dedication in helping youngsters develop 'extremely passionate and are committed to supporting all children in fulfilling their potential, given their varying starting points and levels of ability'.

It added: "All staff and management have very high expectations of what and how children learn.

"Children benefit from the extremely positive role models they see in the staff. Children's behaviour is exemplary, and they readily show care and consideration for each other."

The report also speaks strongly of the nursery's management, saying: "Leadership in the setting is passionate and inspirational. The governing body for this exciting and highly stimulating provision takes an active and influential part in supporting each child and their family."

It also says that safety and supervision is good and that the staff are trained in how to deal with children, letting them learn their own lessons while making sure they remain safe.
