Wem nursery celebrating after inspector's report
Staff and children at a Shropshire nursery are celebrating after being commended by education inspectors.
Wem Playmates Nursery, based on the town's business park, has been described as 'good' following its latest Ofsted inspection.
The report highlighted many good aspects of the nursery, including that the children are well safeguarded, staff understand their roles and strong bonds exist between each other.
Inspectors said it was not yet outstanding because work needs to be done to develop the children's outdoor play area.
The report said: "Children are well safeguarded. This is due to robust recruitment and vetting procedures.
"As a result, staff have a comprehensive understanding of their roles and responsibilities in protecting children in their care.
"Children show good levels of confidence and independence skills through daily routines.
"There is scope to develop and extend resources and experiences available to children in the outdoor play area.
"Staff do not make the most of information from parents about children's developmental abilities."
Last year nursery bosses were granted permission to relocate to bigger premises in order to meet a growing demand of children living in the area.
