Shropshire schoolboy's fashion firm netting big business

Eighteen months ago he launched his own clothing brand from his bedroom – and now ships items all over the world.

Toby, of Station Road, Newport, set up Radical Style to sell branded jumpers, T-shirts, backpacks and hats.

Now Toby has customers across the UK – and has even sent clothes to Australia, Germany and France.

Not bad, considering Toby is just 15 years old.

The Burton Borough School pupil said: "I was inspired by Marvin Morgan, a Shrewsbury Town footballer who set up his own brand, Fresh Ego Kid.

"I was on holiday from school so I set up a Facebook page to get some ideas on designs and brand names.

"Then I went to a printing company to get my design printed.

"It has really taken off. My Facebook page has had 18,000 likes and my website gets thousands of views each day.

"I'm really surprised with how well it has gone.

"I'm doing daily trips to the Post Office at the moment with orders coming in all the time.

"I've managed to grow the links with the printing company, too."

Toby said he has sold about 1,000 products, and some of his friends can even be found sporting his Radical Style logo.

He said: "It's really strange when I see my friends wearing my beanies or carrying my backpack."

Toby said he had been encouraged by Burton Borough's business teacher Marie Wylde.

"She says I'll owe her some money if it gets big," Toby joked.

Toby is using his profits to save for a car when he is old enough to drive.

But he has also bought a new computer, camera and phone.

And he believes that Radical Style can grow bigger still.

He said: "I don't think it's reached its full potential yet. I am starting to make promotional links with famous people in the USA to see if I can expand over there.

"I want to carry it on for as long as possible and want to get into business when I'm older as it's something that I really enjoy."
