Telford pupils tour Shropshire Star offices.
Budding journalists got a first-hand look at how newspapers are made when they were given a tour of the Shropshire Star's headquarters.
Pupils from Phoenix Academy, in Dawley, were shown around the newsroom and printing presses at the Star's Ketley head office.
The school is one of a number across Shropshire which have been given a chance to visit the offices as part of the Star's 50th anniversary celebrations.
Kate Shewring, department head of key stage three at the school, said: "It was really good. "More than we thought goes on here. I didn't expect to see some much go on in one building.
"I think the pupils have found it really interesting too. They've been choosing their options before they move into key stage four so they've had to start thinking about careers.
"We chose people with an interest in media and journalism so hopefully this will help them in thinking about what they want to do in the future."
Ellie Fox, 13, who came on the tour, said: "We enjoyed it very much, it was very interesting. The best part was learning about how they make the newspapers."
Abigail Lumbard, also 13, said: "I've learned how complex it is."
And 14-year-old Hope Powell, 14, added: "It was really interesting to see how it has changed over the years."
The group was taken on the tour on Wednesday by editor Martin Wright and MNA brand and communications manager Chris Leggett, where they were given a tour of the building, including a visit to the press hall, to see the newspaper being produced.
They were then given goodie-bags with mementos of their visit.
