Lakelands Academy, in Oswestry Road, Ellesmere, has submitted a planning application to Shropshire Council.
It includes two rooms specialised for chemistry teaching, one for biology and one for physics.
The plans have won the support of Ellesmere town council members.
Councillor Rod Harington said it would be a great improvement for the school.
"I think it looks absolutely brilliant," he said. "The plans were very impressive. They looked great."
No one was available to comment from the school, but on its website said science had become "increasingly important" to the school. The application can be viewed on the Shropshire Council website.
