Watch: Shrewsbury pupils have something to sing about with their own school anthem
Pupils at a Shrewsbury primary school have joined with a local musician to write their own school song.
The youngsters at Mereside Primary School, Springfield, have teamed up with Shropshire Music Service to create their own tune to represent the school.
They were led in the work by Sam Newth, from the service.
Shropshire Music Service provides instrumental, vocal and curriculum support for schools throughout Shropshire.
The aim of the service is to provide, develop and support the highest quality of music education across Shropshire and to give young people the opportunities to perform in schools and also in the community.

Jill Hudson, teacher and musical co-ordinator, said that that the pupils had thoroughly enjoyed the exercise.
She added: "The kids have been having a great time. They have loved it. They have always loved Sam's music and working with him. We are all excited about it."
The pupils spent Friday learning and rehearsing the song, as well as formulating instrumental sections to accompany the vocals.
Mrs Hudson said that the children had previously enjoyed performing songs by Mr Newth and were delighted to have him leading their efforts to produce the new song.
She said: "I understand it is the first time Sam has been involved doing something like this with a school.
"He is amazing. The children think he is great and he has written lots of songs and when we get together each week to sing they are the songs they want to sing. That is why we asked him to come in."
Mr Newth visited the school before Christmas where he worked with key stage two children to develop the lyrics for the song.
They were then selected on the basis of what was important to the youngsters.
Mrs Hudson said that the school now intended to sing the new song as regularly as possible and that the children were absolutely thrilled to have their own school tune.
