Video and pictures: Cheers and tears at Harper Adams University graduation
[gallery] There were cheers and tears as students bade farewell to Harper Adams University.
Graduation day also coincided with the campus near Newport
It's an accolade that is well deserved, according to student Naomi Lewis, 23, from Picklescott, near Church Stretton.
She said: "It's been a really good day. I'm feeling sad that I'm moving on, but I'm still very excited for the future.
"I've been looking forward to starting my career and taking the next step. Agriculture has been going through a tough time, but I think we're going to come out the other side much better."
Vice-Chancellor Dr David Llewellyn congratulated students graduating at the university and hailed the Good University award, adding: "We are thrilled. I am sure there is no better time to receive such news than on our annual graduation day.
"To be able to share the news and celebrate with our students, their families and sponsors has made it even more special."
Four guests also received recognition of their lives' work at the ceremony
Local dairy farmer Bill Madders, Shropshire-born editor-in-chief of The Economist Zanny Minton Beddoes, Kathryn Boor, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University and Sheila Dillon of Radio 4's The Food Programme were honoured during the ceremony.
