Tractor traffic sparks complaint to Harper Adams University
A villager has claimed tractors driving through Newport to Harper Adams University are causing problems in the town.
Graham Renshaw, who lives in Edgmond on the outskirts of Newport, said the tractors are travelling to and from the university and disturbing residents
But the university said it does all it can to make residents aware of its activities and will be in contact with him to see what can be done.
Mr Renshaw has lived in Newport Road for 25 years but said the issue of traffic is a recent one.
He said: "We expected to be surrounded by farm traffic, no problem. However, the people of Edgmond are now subjected to an onslaught of traffic and stink.
"Over the last few months we have had a constant flow of gigantic tractors, travelling at speed, between Harpers and their fields.
"The lane they use runs parallel with my house, it is partly tarmac but then rough track. Consequently the tractors bounce with tremendous noise and shake the conservatory.
"Also they pick up an enormous amount of mud."
Harper Adams has pledged to maintain its contact with the parish council and says it always takes on the concern of residents. "We will be in touch with Mr Renshaw to offer to discuss his particular concerns."
