Moreton Hall tops Sunday Times' league tables
A Shropshire independent school has been named as the best in Britain in one of the top league tables.
Moreton Hall, near Oswestry, has been named by The Sunday Times' Parent Power league table as the UK's top performing non-selective school following outstanding GCSE results. The latest GCSE results at the school saw nearly half of all pupils achieve straight A* and As in every subject.
Jonathan Forster, principal, said: "Our GCSE and A Level results – and our success nationally – are a testament to the dedication and commitment of our students and staff.
"Our GCSE results in particular were stellar and comfortably place us among the top 100 schools in the country. However, the statistic that we are most proud of, is that we are one of the leading schools for value added – something that will be more accurately reflected in league tables in the future."
