Telford school places: Parents to protest over changes
Parents will tonight take their protests over proposed school catchment changes to Telford & Wrekin Council.
Muxton Action Group members will turn out in force at a full meeting of the authority.
They plan to raise their concerns during the meeting when questions are taken from the public.
It comes after dozens of parents and children staged a protest walk from Muxton Primary School to Telford Priory School to highlight the dangers they said youngsters would face on the way.
Consultation has been launched to allow parents to have their say on the council's plans to change certain boundaries. But parents in Muxton said they were unhappy with the proposals. Youngsters would most likely be assigned to Telford Priory School in Wrockwardine Wood rather than Burton Borough School in Newport under the plans.
